National Hot Cocoa Day {December 13}

At the Winter Ranch, we look for just about ANY excuse to celebrate!

If you follow me on Instagram, then you probably already read that I follow an account that posts daily about 'national days' around the world.

Today is National Hot Cocoa Day and I knew we had to take advantage of this opportunity.

The kids helped me bake cocoa crinkle cookies.  {We used this recipe}

After the sweet treats were finished baking, Kensley ran to Grandma Nancy's house
and invited her over for a cup of cheer and cookies!

Grandma Nancy is always so sweet to play along with whatever crazy ideas we come up with.

Wahoo!  Nolan's Michael's Hot Cocoa Bar was open once again!

Seriously.  These pictures just melt my heart.
Grandma Nancy is a former kindergarten teacher for 35+ years.
 Listening to kids read is totally her jam.
Especially when the book is about taking cookies to the neighbor.

We had extra melted chocolate left over from making the spoons for the live nativity,
so I quickly wrote everyone's name and the kids were delighted with such a tasty treat!

Nolan still enjoys taking orders and punching cards for his most valued customers.

It was a special day for all of us!

The most valuable gift  you can give this season is the gift of your time.
You won't have any regrets.  Pinky promise.
