Love Your Neighbor

Last week Natalie wrote a special post titled Love Your Neighbor.
It was a topic that I could totally relate to since one of my love languages is giving gifts.
I often think that if I would like to receive it, others would too.

Like Natalie, we too don't have an overabundance of money {Seriously!  Who does?}
but I still want others around us to know that they are loved!

Over the past several months, Kensley has taken a liking to Ms. Nancy, our next door neighbor.
It was an instant friendship that grows sweeter with each visit.

Ms. Nancy is a retired Kindergarten teacher of 30+ years.  She is a widow who never had any grandchildren.
She was delighted to 'adopt' our children and greatly enjoys sharing in our day-to-day lives.

With Natalie's words still lingering in my mind as I drove down our small West Virginia country road,
we pulled over, hopped out of the car and picked Ms. Nancy some wild daisies today!

After Kensley gave Ms. Nancy her flowers, through tear-filled eyes, Ms. Nancy said, "I feel like I'm worth a million bucks!"

And that, my friends, is what giving is all about.  It isn't the amount of the gift, but rather the sacrifice.
In today's fast-paced world, people can feel like everyone around them is too busy for them.
I challenge you to let someone know just how much they mean to you today!

I love Miss Nancy because...

she hugs me tightly.
she smiles when she talks to me.
she loves turtles.
she always makes time for me.
she gives me surprises.
she visits our clubhouse.
she lets me feed her birds.
she loves me!
Love, Kensley
