Childlike Faith

Kensley's faith amazes everyone who is around her.
She has a more intimate relationship with Christ than most adults I know.

Jesus is her friend; she talks to Him often.
Most times she prays, other times she has silly conversations with Him.
But the point is she seeks after Him.

We have been working with her to memorize the 10 Commandments.
Nolan asked what an 'enemy' was... and I held my breath fearing what she may tell him.

What she said next brought tears to my eyes.

"Nolan, enemies are people who do bad things
but we need to pray for them so that they will have Jesus in their heart."

Spoken like a true saint.

Kensey is CONVINCED that Jesus is coming back soon.
More specifically, the rapture is taking place on Easter.
Jesus is coming for her... and she is ready!

We have lots of conversations regarding how she will ascend.
She thinks Jesus is bringing her pixie dust to fly and then they will ride on the clouds to heaven.

She describes heaven as a safe place to eat her favorite foods.
A place where it smells like sweet flowers.
A place where she can watch her favorite tv shows.
A place where she will play all day.
A place she is longing to go.

Another touching thing she has shared recently is while the kids were debating what they are going to be when they grow up
{Nolan just copies whatever Kensley says - apparently we will have two doctors in our family} she told him,

"Nolan, you are going to be a man of God just like Daddy!"

**  In my book, that's a big enough calling on his life.  **

Money doesn't buy you happiness.
Although we want our kids to succeed, we desire for God to have His way in their lives,
even if Nolan just grows up to be a man of God.

Do you know how little boys train to be good Daddies?
Yep.  They play with baby dolls!

Son, you are off to a wonderful start - keep God first in your life and He will direct your path.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord,
"plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future."  Jeremiah 29:11
